Ready, Set, Grow! Child Care Center
Ready, Set, Grow! provides outstanding child care services for the multi-ethnic community of Flushing, Queens. Our establishment began as a family day care center in April of 2003. Through hard work, determination, and our devotion towards children and learning, we expanded into a full-time day care center in less than a year. Due to our success in education and the support from our community, we moved into a new and more spacious location in March 2011 for our children to thrive. Here, our children are enjoying a much wider range of experience in their learning. We are recently acquired by My Little Sweetheart Corp which has multiple locations, in Central Islip, NY and 2 day care in Bayside, NY.
Ready, Set, Grow! offers Infant, Toddler, 3K For All and PreK For All services for our community. Our curriculum has always provided children with experiences that stimulate their learning in all developmental areas—- social, emotional, physical, and intellectual. While there are high expectations for all children, we do not expect that all the children perform the same tasks and achieve the same skills as their peers. We distinguish each child that walks into our school as a unique individual, having their own pattern and time to grow and develop.
Our daily interactions and activities at Ready, Set, Grow! create encouragement towards children’s self-esteem and build positive feelings towards their learning. Our teachers provide an environment where the children learn through active hands-on exploration and interaction with adults, their peers, and materials within their classroom. Teachers are encouraged to ask many open-ended questions to the children throughout the day.

At Ready, Set, Grow Child Care Center, we are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging early learning environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Our program was recognized for supporting children’s language development, using visual supports to strengthen classroom routines, creating accessible learning spaces, and helping children build independence and self-regulation skills.
Language Development & Visual Supports
Children are supported through language-rich classroom experiences, bilingual support, and visual charts that help them understand daily routines, expectations, and transitions.
Creative Curriculum Learning Experiences
Teachers provide diverse, hands-on learning experiences through Creative Curriculum studies, helping children explore new ideas through play, discovery, and classroom projects.
Social-Emotional Growth
Teachers observed growth in children’s self-regulation, peer interactions, independence, and confidence, reflecting meaningful progress in social-emotional development.
Inclusive Classroom Environments
Classroom spaces were adjusted to make materials more accessible, support routines, and encourage children to participate more independently throughout the day.
Strong Family Partnerships
The program leader and teaching teams were recognized for building strong bonds with families and creating an inclusive community for children and parents.
Bilingual Support for Children
Teaching teams worked cohesively across classrooms and provided bilingual language support to help children feel understood, included, and confident.

Wanda Perez, Director
Wanda has been a childcare provider for over 16 years. She was a childcare provider in the Dominican Republic, and opened My Little Sweetheart in 2012. In 2019, she opened a second location “My Little Sweetheart II”. On May 16, 2022, Wanda opened her 3rd day care center, My Little Sweetheart III, in Central Islip, NY. She is also now the proud owner of Ready, Set, Grow! Child Care Center in Flushing, NY.
She is passionate about education, children, and has three children of her own. Certifications: NYS State Licensed, Family Childcare Bilingual Certification, Early Childhood Education and Training Program, First Aid /CPR / AED, CACFP Nutrition Training, Health and Safety, Health, & Learning Environment Training.
